ÇãÁ¾ÇØ/Huh CR
Abstract
The author has made a clinical observation on 23 cases of hypospadias which were treated at the Department of Urology, Pusan National University Hospital during the 10 years from 1961 through 1970. The results were as follows: 1. The ages were distributed from 6 months to 26 years and most of the cases (34. 8%) was found in the age group of 16 to 20 years old. 2. Most of the types of hypospadias (43. 4%) was penoscrotal type. 3. Chordee was complicated in 21 cases (91. 3%). 4. Cryptorchism and bifid scrotum were the most frequent associated anomalies with each 4 cases (17.3%). 5. Of the 23 hypospadias, 2 cases of sibling hypospadias were found. 6. In contrast to the less anomalies complicating the glandular type of hypospadias the complication rate of other anomalies was greater in the penoscrotal and perineal types. 7. 22 cases were treated surgically but of these, chordee removal only was done in 13 cases and 9 cases were given urethroplasty (Denis-Brown technique) with 5 cases of success. 8. The surgical treatments were done mostly at ages of 11 to 20 years. 9. Time from chordee removal to urethroplasty took 6 months to one year with the average of 9 months. 10. Urinary fistula complicated the urethroplasty in 4 cases.11. Success rate of urethroplaty by Denis-Brown technique was 55. 6%.
